Meet Your Host

Hi, I’m Nina—a wildlife photographer and filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC. Canada. My work has taken me to Antarctica, the Arctic, Patagonia, and beyond. But The Eagle Show? It’s one of the most incredible things I’ve ever witnessed—and it happens right in my own backyard. This trip is for photographers of all levels who want to level up their wildlife images, experience something wild and rare, and have an unforgettable time doing it.

The Lodge

Nanook Lodge is nestled in a protected bay and comes with its own resident pair of eagles. You’ll have your own private room and ensuite bathroom, complete with Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and a cozy queen bed—perfect for recharging after a day of chasing the shot.

Meals are prepared fresh daily by an in-house chef. Think ocean-to-table: wild-caught salmon, Dungeness crab, and west coast comfort food. And yes, there’s a bar stocked with house wine and local beer. You'll be well-fed, well-rested, and always ready to shoot.

Photography Details & Gear Recommendations

We’ll be doing all photography from boats, so no tripods—you’re welcome to bring them to the lodge, just not in the boats. I recommend:

  • Two camera bodies if you have them

  • A telephoto zoom (100–400mm, 200–600mm, etc.)

  • A prime lens if you’ve got one (400mm, 500mm, 600mm)

  • Tons of memory cards + batteries (seriously, you’ll need ‘em)

  • You don’t need to be a professional photographer to enjoy this trip! An iPhone and a pair of binoculars will also work just fine.

What to Pack

West Coast weather can change quickly—think chilly mornings, warm afternoons, and cool evenings. You’ll want:

  • Layered, weather-resistant clothing

  • A hat + sunglasses

  • Sunscreen

  • A dry bag for gear

  • Comfortable footwear for boat + lodge life
